Question 1.

How many courses are available on CBRNE and who can take them?

CBRNE.org is a beta test Web site for newly developed courses related to threat CBRNE and equipment hands-on training topics. Numerous courses are under development and are posted as they become available.

The courses are by invitation and self-nomination. Send an email to info@cbrne.org to receive login credentials. CBRNE is especially interested in your feedback and analysis of the online based courses. Check the site calendar regularly for updates on course developments.

Question 2.

What type of courses does CBRNE.org offer?

We currently offer one online Biological Threat Warfare Agent (BTWA) course and one hands-on equipment course. We are experimenting with several other follow-on courses building on scenarios from previous modules.

The BTA course is combined with MS-Access to build an Interactive Electronic Toolkit (IET). These courses are designed to expose students to important details of CBRNE coupled with the technical aspects of productivity software. The course author and developer discovered the power of MS-Access and its ability to harness complex details and information.

Online training cannot take the place of hands-on performance training. A Web site however, can post advance sheets, handouts, and performance metrics for students and instructors to prepare for and or collaborate training.

If you have any ideas for new courses to be developed or revamped, send an email to info@cbrne.org.

Question 3.

Can you identify the specific procedure to enroll in a course?

On the Training Portal page, the process is laid out. The first thing you do is register for the course. Once registered, you will receive an email with login credentials to enter the course area.

Once you complete the course, go to the e-Assessment page and complete the form. Your work will be assessed against the preferred solution. You will receive via email a link to the solution.

You will then complete the Feedback form and Quest Book form. It’s that easy.

The courses are designed to be rigorous and challenging. If you follow our reference material and suggestions, you will be successful. If at any time you have questions, email info@cbrne.org.

Question 4.

What kind of computer and other resources will I need to take the CBRNE courses?

A computer running Microsoft Office 2000, XP, 2003, or 2007 (MS-Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access) will suffice. The Adobe Reader software is required to read PDF files. The Internet is used for research in some training scenarios. Visit our resources page to find links to download software you will need for our courses.

Question 5.

Why do I need this training?

Our courses positively impact personal productivity. Designing and building Interactive Electronic Toolkits and Interactive Trainers Toolkits (ITT) cannot be found anywhere but here. Personal and professional productivity are of interest to everyone; it brings increased job satisfaction. Once you learn the initial backbone and framework strategies of building IETs, you begin to look at information and data with a sharper eye toward “what’s in it for me.” Try it and you’ll see.
